Gold-i Sponsors Great Strides 65 Challenge to Raise Money for Cystic Fibrosis Trust

Gold-i, world leader in trading systems integration, is delighted to announce its sponsorship of the annual Great Strides 65 Challenge – a 65km (40 mile) trek through the Surrey countryside to raise money for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust.

The multi-award winning Guildford-based company has donated £1,500 to Great Strides 65 and Business Development Manager, Chris Rowe, will be actively involved in the event. He will be helping to manage the route throughout the duration of the event.

Tom Higgins, CEO, Gold-i comments, “It’s always been important to us to support our local community and we are proud to be playing our part in this impressive Surrey-based fundraising initiative to raise money for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust.”

The Great Strides 65 Challenge is taking place on Saturday 6 June. Teams of four to six people will cover a circular 40 mile route, starting from the Hampton Estate in Seale at 7am and taking in scenic locations such as the North Downs Way, the Devil’s punchbowl and St Martha’s Hill.

The organisers are looking for more teams to enter and are also appealing to the Surrey-based business community to provide additional support.

David Turner, founder and organizer of the event adds, “We would really welcome the support of other local business, whether they are able to provide financial support or sponsorship in kind. For example, a donation of £250 would cover the cost of food and drink for the teams before and after the event. Alternatively, providing items such as portaloos or free printing on T-shirts would be a huge help. We are aiming to smash last year’s fundraising total of £62,500 and the lower we can make our operational costs, the more we can raise for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust to spend on research to allow people with cystic fibrosis to live a life unlimited by this cruel and unremitting disease.”

Cystic fibrosis is a life-shortening genetic condition which causes the internal organs, especially the lungs and digestive system, to become clogged with thick sticky mucus, resulting in chronic infections and inflammation of the lungs.
